Purpose
Why it exists
Readiness is rarely limited by technology alone. When AI initiatives stall, the gap usually sits on another axis: no clear ownership at leadership level, use cases that are not tied to real processes, data that cannot be used in practice, or no agreed way to manage risk.
The framework looks at all six axes together, because they depend on each other. Each axis is scored on a five-level maturity scale, from Exploring to Embedded, on the basis of evidence rather than opinion alone: interviews, documents, data samples and a review of the systems in place. The evidence behind every score is recorded, so the result can be challenged and repeated.
The outcome is a baseline you can measure progress against, and a short list of actions ordered by impact, effort and dependency. The weakest axis usually sets the pace, which is why the recommendations address foundations as well as use cases.
